State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) has announced significant funding for key Capital Budget projects across Senate District 16. This announcement follows the previous week's declaration of a $350 million investment by the Senate in Ohio communities from the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund.
"These investments will invigorate our communities and improve our quality life now and for years to come," said Senator Kunze. "This funding will make our area more attractive to businesses and make major upgrades to our recreational facilities."
Projects in Senator Kunze’s district receiving funding include:
- Barthelmas Park Walking Trail and Softball Diamond Expansion - $750,000
- The Depot at Public Square - $401,250
- Franklin County Fairgrounds 4H Hose Barns - $100,000
The Capital Budget also allocates $600 million for new construction and facility upgrades at Ohio's public schools and $575 million for local infrastructure projects such as roads and water and sewer systems.
The legislature typically approves a Capital Budget every two years to fund essential improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, infrastructure, mental health, and addiction facilities. Both the House and Senate have introduced similar legislation that will undergo vetting in both chambers.
