State Senator Stephanie Kunze has announced a significant $1 million donation to support the Ohio Women's Monument project. The anonymous contribution will aid in constructing the monument on the Ohio Statehouse grounds, honoring the late Speaker Jo Ann Davidson.

"This project honors the collective spirit and achievements of women throughout history," Kunze stated. "This generous gift underscores the importance of recognizing those contributions and inspires us to continue the journey toward equality and opportunity."

Kunze played a pivotal role during the 133rd General Assembly by sponsoring Senate Bill 30, which led to creating the Ohio Women's Suffrage Centennial Commission. This bipartisan commission commemorated the 100th anniversary of women's constitutional right to vote through various initiatives, including plans for this monument.

"As a mother of two daughters and an elected State Senator and only one of 8 women in the state senate, it is critical that all of Ohio's children see women playing a part in government and shaping Ohio’s history past, present and future," Kunze emphasized.

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board approved the monument project last month, with completion expected by summer 2026.
