COLUMBUS - State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) announced the investment of millions of dollars from the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund (OTSCIF) to fund projects that will benefit local communities and residents for years to come.

"I am grateful to see these projects funded in the first phase of the capital budget," said Kunze. "Once completed, they will advance workforce development throughout the region and improve safety and quality of life in our district."

The following are some of the projects awarded funding in the region:

Ohio Center for Advanced Technologies - adding $10,000,000 for a total of $20,000,000: These funds will support the center which will be utilized by college-aged and adult learners, K-12 students, educators, and employers throughout the region to advance workforce development in biotech, IT, and manufacturing industries.

Dublin Historic Riverfront Revitalization - $1,230,000: The funds allocated to this project will connect pedestrians and cyclists to Riverside Crossing Park West, the Dublin Link pedestrian and bicycle bridge, and the Historic District. It aims to improve roadways, streetscape, and safety.

Norwich Township Fire Department Station 84 - $1,000,000: With continued growth in the area, funding for this station will go towards site demolition, site earthwork, engineering, and construction so that residents continue to receive fire and EMS services.

The funding for these projects came from a unique one-time fund established under House Bill 33 passed by the Ohio General Assembly in June 2023. The OTSCIF set aside $700 million as an additional source of funding allowing communities and organizations to apply for help with projects that might not qualify as part of the state's traditional Capital Budget.

Each chamber developed a plan for $350 million while coordinating negotiations to determine projects for OTSCIF. The Senate Finance Committee will begin hearings on the bill addressing OTSCIF funding this week.
