The Ohio Senate has approved Senate Bill 163, sponsored by State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin), paving the way for the creation of the Dublin City Schools license plate. The initiative stemmed from the initiative of Dublin students who expressed interest in having a license plate representing the Dublin City School District. The proceeds from the license plate sales will be channeled towards supporting the Dublin Food Pantry.
State Senator Stephanie Kunze, the bill's sponsor, shared, "I met with the group of students to discuss their vision for the plate and to explain the process to create a new license plate at the state level." She further commended the students for their dedication and community-minded approach, stating, "These students showed that they are passionate, determined, and thoughtful about their 'why' and I am grateful to them for their passion for helping others in their community."
Under the provisions of SB 163, each purchase of the Dublin City Schools License Plate will contribute $25 to the Dublin Food Pantry, with an additional $10 allocated for processing fees at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The bill garnered unanimous support from the Transportation Committee and the Senate floor, advancing to the Ohio House of Representatives for further deliberation.
