State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) announced that farmers in Franklin, Madison, and Pickaway counties may be eligible for emergency loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

"Although we have had a wonderful, sunny summer, the weather has unfortunately not brought enough rain to the Buckeye State and the 16th Senate District," said Kunze. "The farmers in need must be provided with adequate resources to continue with their harvest and provide food for Ohioians."

The department has named 22 Ohio counties as natural disaster areas due to the ongoing drought. Farmers from these counties and 18 neighboring counties are able to apply for these loans, which can help meet recovery needs, such as replacing essential items. The deadline to apply is April 28, 2025.
