COLUMBUS—State Senator Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) today addressed concerns about the safety of a heavily traveled railroad crossing #2569 on State Route 161 in Kileville, Ohio. Kunze expressed the community's worries, stating, "A hazardous railroad crossing located on State Route 161 in Madison County has been in disrepair and causing concern among the community."

After receiving feedback from constituents, Kunze took action by contacting both CSX and the Ohio Rail Development Commission to address the issue. She stated, "Already aware of this issue, the Ohio Department of Transportation will be working with CSX on a temporary fix this week weather permitting." Additionally, Kunze shared that efforts are underway for a permanent solution, mentioning, "The Ohio Rail Development Commission and CSX are finalizing plans to permanently correct this railway crossing later this year."

The collaboration between state authorities and railroad companies aims to enhance safety measures at the problematic railroad crossing, ensuring the well-being of the community. For further updates on this matter, individuals are encouraged to visit the Ohio Rail Development Commission for additional information.
