DUBLIN, Ohio (Feb. 13, 2023) – Fractals are repeating patterns that produce a feeling of well-being. The Fractals: Patterns in Nature gallery exhibition encompasses the work of Ohio artists Jonah Jacobs, Andrea Myers and Karen Snouffer. The exhibition also includes artwork created by students from Dublin City Schools and students from The Ohio State University. A unique array of fractal photographs submitted by community members round out the exhibition, which will be on view March 7 – June 2 at Dublin Arts Council, 7125 Riverside Dr., in Dublin.

The exhibition is the culmination of a two-year project , developed in collaboration with Noor Murteza, a doctoral student in the Arts Administration, Education, and Policy program at The Ohio State University (OSU) and Dublin City Schools. Visitors will view two- and three-dimensional artwork and interact with experiential components of the exhibition.

An open house and opportunity to meet the artists will take place Saturday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The artists will also hold workshops on Saturday, April 15 and Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Workshop registration is required.

Myers’ dimensional forms rely on additive processes to build organic, undulating shapes featuring repetition and variety. Her April 15 workshop will include painting and dyeing paper to create collage materials.

Snouffer’s artwork is inspired by energy, movement and growth, depicted in imaginary forms that reference nature. Her May 13 workshop will begin outside with sensory experiences, culminating with exploration of Snouffer’s artwork in the gallery.

Jacobs’ large-scale artworks are composed of upcycled mediums. His community workshop on May 13 will explore textures, material and dyes for hands-on creation of artwork from cardboard.

Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition, on-site parking and open house are free of charge. Additional information and workshop registration will be available at https://www.dublinarts.org .

The exhibition is supported in part by underwriting from Cardinal Health, City of Dublin, Ohio, Dublin Community Foundation, Ohio Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.
