Franklin University, a leading educator of working adults, is pleased to announce its distinguished faculty member, Dr. Leslie Mathew, chair of the Master of Healthcare Administration, and the Master of Business Administration (Healthcare) programs, and faculty member of the Doctorate of Healthcare Administration program has been selected as an American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Exemplary Service Award recipient.

The ACHE Recognition Program celebrates members’ commitment to the healthcare management profession. Recognition is bestowed at three levels, based on a range of specific volunteer activities demonstrating leadership and contributions to furthering professional excellence. Dr. Mathew’s healthcare volunteer achievements have earned him the top-tier award level.

As a 2017 ACHE Distinguished Service Award recipient and now 2022 ACHE Exemplary Service Award honoree, Dr. Mathew has committed his career to serving others in the healthcare sector for over 35 years. After completing his MD and a clinical career for 20 years, he earned a Master’s in Biotechnology Enterprise from Johns Hopkins University, in addition to completing the Executive MBA program from The Fisher College of Business while working as administrative director of operations at The Ohio State University Medical Center.

As a faculty member and current program chair for two graduate programs in Healthcare Administration at Franklin for the past 12 years, Dr. Mathew encourages his students to achieve higher levels of excellence. He has been an active member of the University’s Faculty Development Committee for the past 12 years.

Dr. Mathew is an advocate for life-long learning and has won multiple awards for teaching excellence. He is also a certified speaker, trainer, and coach with the John Maxwell Team besides being an ACHE Executive Coach partner. His passion is stimulating personal growth and leadership development among students and upcoming professionals worldwide.
