Dublin’s Pop-Up Shop Helps Kids Shop for Holiday Gifts on Their Own

It’s the season for giving, and the City of Dublin is giving children the opportunity to shop for presents for their loved ones this holiday season while also supporting small businesses.

The Kids Holiday Gift Shop at Pop-Up Dublin will take place Dec. 7-10 in Historic Dublin. Located at 63 S. High Street, the shop invites parents and guardians to drop off their children so they can independently select gifts without their grownups present.

Trained volunteers will guide kids through the shopping experience, from selecting a gift, purchasing the item and wrapping their unique find before their parents or guardians pick them up.

Vendors will be selling price-appropriate gifts for children to select from, and parents are encouraged to provide a list of gift recipients and set a budget for their child to reference. Items for purchase include clothes, coffee beans, artisan crafts, candles, home décor and hot chocolate gift baskets.

Online registration is optional but strongly encouraged so that vendors can estimate the number of products they should bring. Parents and guardians can register for their preferred day to shop at PopUp.DublinOhioUSA.gov.

The gift shop hours are as follows:

  • 7, 4-8 p.m.
  • 8, 4-8 p.m.
  • 9, 4-8 p.m.
  • 10, 1-8 p.m.
In addition to the Kids Holiday Gift Shop, Pop-Up Dublin will round out the year by hosting two holiday-themed shopping days, Dec. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Dec. 17 from 1 to 8 p.m., for shoppers of all ages to purchase one-of-a-kind gifts for friends and family.

Earlier this year, the City leased the 63 S. High Street property to launch this pop-up pilot project. Pop-Up Dublin is a rotating retail and art experience in Downtown Dublin and is open two days a week, Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 8 p.m.

Vendors rotate regularly and sell a variety of products, including jewelry, clothes, soaps and donuts, just to name a few. Up to eight vendors can occupy the space on any given day and will be located in the house, garage and backyard area, as weather permits. The vendor schedule is published online at PopUp.DublinOhioUSA.gov.

The City is proud to have the support of Dublin Chamber of Commerce, the Historic Dublin Business Association, Visit Dublin Ohio and Bridge Park, which operates the Dublin Market and the North Market Bridge Park Pop-Up Program.
