OhioHealth and Franklin University Broaden Education Partnership to Expand Tuition Benefits

33

Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, is pleased to announce the expansion of its existing educational partnership with OhioHealth to establish the U-LEARN program.

Demonstrating its commitment to attracting and developing a well-trained workforce, the U-LEARN program allows OhioHealth associates to take advantage of the hospital system’s reimbursement program to take unlimited undergraduate courses at Franklin University for $5250 per calendar year. OhioHealth associates will receive free textbooks and waived registration fees, creating no-cost access to a bachelor’s degree. Part-time OhioHealth associates are also eligible for this new benefit by supplementing their $3000 benefit toward a bachelor’s degree.

Through the U-LEARN program, employees can benefit from the flexibility of 100 percent online programs in nearly 40 areas of study, including nursing (RN-BSN), healthcare management, and health education and promotion.

“As a leading employer in the state of Ohio, we want OhioHealth to be the place people want to work,” says Qiana Williams, OhioHealth vice president, total rewards and human resources operations. “We are committed to removing educational barriers for our associates.  These new and enhanced options benefit current associates and tell prospective associates, OhioHealth is the place to start your career and continue life-long learning and development.”

As a leader in adult education, Franklin University understands that balancing the need to stay current along with going back to school takes planning, commitment, and sacrifices. Through Franklin’s online programs, employees of OhioHealth can take classes on their schedule to continue their education as they make themselves a skilled and relevant asset to OhioHealth.

"To provide excellence in healthcare and its administration, we must prepare professionals to improve the quality of life through leadership and service,” said Dr. David Decker, President of Franklin University. “Through this expansion of our partnership with OhioHealth, we can enhance the development of its employees, with the added benefit of preparing their workforces to lead the state of healthcare forward into a new level of quality service."
