Goodwill Columbus to Offer Work Experience Program in Dublin

7

The Work Experience Program, WEP, also known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, TANF, is a work for benefits program. WEP is designed for participants to volunteer at an employer site in exchange for their TANF cash assistance.

A WEP partner site, such as City of Dublin, uses the participant(s) as extra help to their current staff. The site guides the participant in learning work skills and providing a positive work environment, where individuals will grow while being monitored and groomed towards career success.

Participants do not take the place of true staff but are additional help for your present team.

Why is this worth your time?

  • There is no cost to the employer. Participants receive compensation through TANF
  • Participants come with insurance coverage
  • Employers may filter participants by job demand and an interview process
  • Participants are continually monitored by Goodwill Columbus for progress and needs
  • Placements are a maximum of 90 days. Ideally a job offer will follow, but there is no obligation
  • Employers receive a tax break when they hire WEP participants
Goodwill Columbus wants to welcome both onsite placements and any remote opportunities.
