Today marks the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day!
Students at Brown Elementary School had the chance to learn more about the importance of trees and plant a few of their own Friday afternoon - a Paperbark Maple and River Birch!
City Forester Andy Beare discussed the many benefits that trees have on our environment and Council President Andy Teater delivered an official proclamation to commemorate the day.
Thanks to the City's ongoing efforts, Hilliard has been named a Tree City USA for the 42nd consecutive year. Beare says the City currently has over 10,000 street trees and well over 30,000 total trees in our parks and various wooded areas.
